Biologylabsonline Pedigree Answers

Wednesday October 20th, Steve Jobs led the anticipated event focused on the computers of the company, which titled "Back to the Mac." In a play on words that show us that the return involves a step (referring to the English title of the movie "Back to the Future"), Apple's CEO presented in this order, the following products.

-ILife 11

-FaceTime

Mac - Mac OS X Lion

- La (s) new (s) MacBook Air

Since I could not follow the keynote live, I seems fair to put together a summary when I myself feel that I missed something. However, for those who wish to review the Keynote or missed it like me and want to know how it developed in AppleWeblog did a very good job highlighting the major points of the event. I leave a link to the article in question:

Keys "Back to the Mac"
By Julio César Fernández for AppleWeblog

For the rest, this post will obviously be the new MacBook Air. And my choice is this because, while personally prefer to write about the characteristics of the next OS for Mac, I have seen that there is much interest in new models of Air. In addition, the newly announced MacBooks will be ready for sale, compared to Mac OS Lion who will just middle of next year.

And do not misunderstand: I will be making the corresponding entry shortly to discuss the features of the new Mac OS. But first things first, so then I leave you with an overview of the new MacBook Air, which are thinner than ever.

Notice how bad the translation on the official version of Latin America. Very repetitive.
marketer
all know what that is Steve Jobs, and the words "impossibly thin" it should sound more than one. However, this time must be given the reason really is amazing how thin they achieved with the new MacBook Air. At first glance, this picture looks like they are holding a paper. Paying a little more attention, one could assume that is a new model iPad, or even the recent Apple Trackpad Magic. However, we have a MacBook so thin that excited the amazement of everyone.

With a design that inherits characteristics of the iPad, Steve Jobs unveiled the new MacBook Air announced as the result of learning gained through their experience with the tablet of the company. He says, the iPad is to be an advantage over the previous generation of MacBooks with the following:

-Power On [1]

-Great battery life [2]

"Incredible
Standby time [3]

-Flash Storage [4]

Lack of hard drives or optical drives (yes, I say as an advantage) [5]

-Thinness and weight = greater mobility [6]

With this in mind, the inevitable for people from Apple was asking "What if these features will be moving to a MacBook?" And the answer to that question was the new MacBook Air.

However, anyone who thinks a few seconds to realize that the benefits are points 1, 2 and 6. This is because 3 point is just an extension of point 2, while points 4 5 and are not really improvements, but rather are necessary conditions for the benefits 1, 2 and 6, take place.

As you can see in the picture below I leave both the smallest and the largest battery were obtained by sacrificing the hard drives and optical drives. Not that he wants to take credit for "the great engineers at Apple, but that's the most important reason why there were improvements and make it go unnoticed (covering up the loss in capacity, clearly). In any case, no less ingenious new way to have flash memory built into the motherboard to gain a little more space. Even if it means that if you ruin the memory, change the entire plate.

addition to these features, the new MacBook Air have a large multitouch glass trackpad, backlit glossy widescreen LED, integrated camera, stereo speakers, omnidirectional microphone, headphone jack and two USB ports 2.0. Can connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi thanks to its AirPort Extreme wireless network that is compatible with IEEE 802.11 a / b / g / n, and additionally with the ability to connect via Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.

As for processing, both models have an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and integrated graphics processor NVIDIA GeForce 320M supports a resolution up to 2560 x 1600 pixels on an external display. While equipped with 2 GB of DDR3 SDRAM 1,066 MHz factory may be requested to extend it to a maximum of 4GB.

Until here, everything I talked about the new MacBook Air have in common. However, as you can see, they also have their differences (beyond the obvious size) and I want to review, by what were then approached by a cut in the comparison chart that provides Apple. not without clear that the cut was made to highlight the differences, as the table found on the official website also points out the similarities.

in Gizmodo, did a very good summary of the views that several editors had to test the new MacBook Air. What I leave this time is then a summary of a summary, so they can quickly read the key points in various places without much tirade.

Ars Technica

-model 11.6 inches is the size of a NetBook

-The screen is still glossy [There will therefore be to put fingerprints and annoying light reflections]

-RAM memory can be expanded after buying the product.

-The ability to "Instant On" just is amazing when it resumes operations after leaving the MacBook on standby. The time it takes to boot the switch is not so surprising.

SlashGear

-The keyboard has 11.6-inch model is so easy to use as a MacBook Pro

-The front is so thin as an iPhone 4.

Engadget

-keys 13-inch model are identical to those of a standard MacBook, contrary to the 11.6-inch model that are more contracted.

-feature "Instant On" is really amazing. No matter how many times you close these MacBooks, when opened will be on the spot.

Forbes-The most remarkable feature of these new teams, it is your boot time.

-The ability to boot in less than 15 seconds clock is quite a feat, as opposed to 50 seconds takes a notebook with Windows.

Finally, completing the review of the characteristics, let you know that contrary to custom, these new MacBooks do not bring Adobe Flash preinstalled. Among the many sites I read, I honestly do not remember where it was said, but someone said that to be fair, we must remember that more than one notebook comes with no pre-installed Adobe Flash and that's not crazy from that can be easily downloaded (Although Apple does not facilitate the task link giving us the odd or even recommending).

Another curiosity
is that the reinstatement of Mac OS does not come on a DVD (since these MacBooks do not have your CD's or DVD's) but on a USB flash drive 8GB (7.5 busy with Mac OS Snow Leopard and the latest version of iLife). Although now that the Mac App Store is probably iLife longer sold on DVD and skip to be available for download.

After the tour about the features, I would answer two questions that more than one should have been.

1 - Steve Jobs said Netbooks would not do But did the 11.6-inch MacBook Air is not exactly a Netbook?

In gizmodo, in fact, bring us an edited image in which they wrote the exact words Steve Jobs, said only ten months ago during the presentation of the iPad.

"The Netbooks do not exceed any other product. They are just cheap Notebooks" (*)

the generic, like most words regarding Jobs conflicting opinions. On the one hand, people like Pedro Santamaria Applesfera who think it following:

"Netbook When I try to convey the idea that a computer is with a few features that make it can not be used as the primary computer.

Except the issue of drive capacity, performance, offering a Core 2 Duo at 1.4 Ghz and 320M Nvidia is much higher than the rest of Netbooks. Another factor is the usability of it to have a complete and comfortable trackpad. One of the main problems Netbooks [is that they are equipped] with a trackpad really uncomfortable. The full keyboard is not stressed as some HP computers, for example, come with a full keyboard, very comfortable.

therefore is not a Netbook. "

So in your opinion (most widespread in this article ), a Notebook Netbook is a cheap, low-potential, a team that only serves to enter text, surf the Internet, and some other basic task.

But on the other hand, the reality is that when you go to any point of sale, distinguishes the Notebooks of Netbooks in size. "If it's girl is a Netbook, and whether big a Notebook." We realize then that the division is generated because each Netbooks characterizes it differently: Increased capacity

=
Notebook Netbook
Less capacity =

vs
Mayor
Size = Smaller Notebook Netbook
=
two ways to differentiate laptops have sense as Netbooks are smaller and have less capacity effectively. But not all look so clear is the fact that one of these characteristics is a consequence of the other. To demonstrate it, I think you have to wonder: Will Netbooks have limited capacity because of its small size? Or the smaller size is just a secondary consequence to the process of manufacturing a low-cost equipment and with few benefits?

Promotional image of Acer Aspire One netbooks
In my opinion, is clear: no one will want a team of little benefit and may have something better. The real difference is the size, and until yesterday it was not possible to significantly improve the performance of Netbooks because there's little room for components.

Clarifying the difference between Netbooks and notebooks, back to Apple: the trick is that Steve Jobs Netbooks defined as equipment cheap and underpowered. However, as clarified in a note Gizmodo, the new MacBook Air is not cheap, and has little power. For this reason, is that Jobs is not belied, as it is not offering a cheap product or limited capacity. You may think that at that time (January of this year), Apple still had not found around the issue as to enable a competent Netbook and therefore preferred to stay out. It should also be borne in mind that it was the presentation of the iPad, and at that time the nearest rivals were the Netbooks as a matter of price. It was expected that Steve will throw a stick to discredit his audience.

And indeed, this move is not surprising. Jesus Diaz points out to us in the note of Gizmodo:

"The same thing happened with the camera on iPods, Smartphones and Tablets. One day Steve discard something, and the next day that something is better than ever. As long as that something is a product you. "

So one day Netbooks have no rationale, and later, gaining experience and seeing the iPad the ability to fill a gap in its product line, Apple Net presents new 11.6 inch MacBook Air. However, the gap of which I speak is not so clear, and certainly those who do not see it may have been the second question.

2 - Why release a small model of the MacBook Air, if the iPad and fulfills the functions of any Netbook?

Matt Buchanan, Gizmodo also, answer this question masterfully, so I approached her words

"iPad, it is said, is Apple's Netbook. Easily handles most of what people do with their Netbook: surfing the Internet, used for viewing videos, you deal with e-mail mail everyday. Moreover, it be truly portable, has an instant-on and has a long battery life, all for the cost of about $ 500.

The new model of MacBook Air is actually a very good Netbook. Apple even said he took all the things I learned iPad to create it. The 11-inch MacBook Air is about the same size and weighs just a little more, but it runs with Mac OS and costs $ 1000. Why create such a model when the iPad is the perfect ultra-portable machine? In other words, you can not improve a product that in itself is magical is not it?

Well, it turns out that the magic of IPAD is not sufficient for certain types of travelers: those who create content.

You can do things in the iPad. Usable, but not always effective or simple. The iPad is primarily designed for content consumption. It's great to read, and is unbeatable as a movie player and picture viewer. But trying to take a photo, upload to iPad, editing in Photoshop and upload it to your blog. It is much more complicated, even if you use systems compatible with existing applications. The iPad is a file system accessible. It is difficult to move files on the IPAD and open them in the correct application. In addition, applications are not always strong or capable. And the addition of keyboard is a temporary solution (Did you see the dock with a keyboard for the iPad? Pff).

A computer-but-powerful ultraportable is still the only way to do many of these things (or at least the only way to do them well). The keyboard pretty much says it all. The MacBook Air is not going to be more comfortable [The iPad] to read, and more portable, but it will be much better to select a heavy document, create and edit a spreadsheet, edit a movie or edit a photo.

addition, the new Air features some of the best features of IPAD-it lights up instantly, and when you leave the new Mac OS, many features of IOS that one day they may redefine the computer (...). While iOS iPad and may remain the future of computers, people still need to do certain things now, you need to live in the present. And something had to be a bridge between one thing and another. "

Finally, after I leave both text link to a video that made a comparison between the time of booting the MacBook Air old and new:

Old New MacBook Air vs MacBook Air

(*) The literal translation would be: "The Netbooks are not better than nothing. They are just cheap Laptops." But better than nothing I conveció.

Steve Jobs, pointing out the weaknesses of competition

Monday October 18, Apple held a press conference to announce the financial results were the latter term. Contrary to custom, this time Steve Jobs is on the scene by reason of having reached the first 250,000 20.34 billion in sales in a single semester. But maybe that was just the excuse, and they really wanted was to take this opportunity to discuss iOS (leaving it clear that the conference this Wednesday will be only on Mac) and beat the competition.

In TiPb think that Jobs said are the covert criticism of the new Windows Phone 7, and I personally think they are right. Also add that when talking about tablets, although not mentioned the BlackBerry Playbook, I think it specifically calls for this model, criticizing the size of the screen and talk about how difficult it is to equalize the price of the iPad to competition.

I leave What then are excerpts from the statement by Steve Jobs about the competition. Talk Android vs IOS, the amount of sales and strategy BlackBerrys that RIM should take, and defects that suffer the tablets of the competition. While the basis for my translation is transcript made in TiPb , largely took the liberty of listening to the audio rose to bring nearer Engadget a more accurate translation. What follows are the words of Steve Jobs.

"First, let me say something about iPhone. IPhones sold 14.1 million representing growth of 91%. Easily surpassed the 12.1 million BlackBerrys that RIM sold the last four months and not see them catching up in the near future. Must move beyond its area of \u200b\u200bstrength and comfort, go into a territory that is unfamiliar to them and try to become a software company. I think it will be a challenge for them to create a competitive platform and convince developers to create applications for a third platform software after iOS and Android. With 300 thousand applications in App Store, RIM has a huge mountain to climb

-Google Android devices being activated 200,000 per day, with 90,000 applications. 275,000 active Apple IOS devices on regular, with peaks at 300,000, and growing with 300,000 applications in the App Store.

"Unfortunately there is no solid data about how many Android devices have been sold. Manufacturers not reported. I hope they do, I wonder who, if iPhone or Android was the winner in the last quarter.

-
Google likes say that Android is open, and that IOS is closed. I think this is false, and that hinders the ability to see the real difference between the two platforms. When one speaks of an open operating system, the first thing that comes to mind is Windows, which works on many different devices. Unlike Windows, however, Android is very fragmented. Many Android device manufacturers including Motorola and HTC, install proprietary interface, so the user never knows what to expect. On the contrary, each operates as iPhone.

-TweetDeck
recently launched a Twitter client, and report having to deal with 100 different versions of Android in 244 different devices. Many applications work only on some Android, in certain versions of the OS, or directly released devices less than 12 months.

Image uploaded by people Gizmodo

-Amazon, Verizon, Voda, all of them are creating their own App Stores for Android. As users have to search each and developers will have more wits to locate your products and profits. Will be quite a mess. The App Store iOS by contrast, is a single market.

"Even if Google had reason, and the question is about openness, should be reminded that open systems do not always win. Tried it with Microsoft PlaysForSure certification musical segment and had to leave the initiative to switch to Zune is a system more like that offered by Apple, and leave several manufacturers with empty hands.

"Actually, the whole thing OS Open vs Closed is a smokescreen. They are trying to cover up the real dilemma: Which is better for the consumer, or Integrated Sliver ? Android is becoming more fragmented every day. Users should not be inclusive, in that we make a difference. In Apple think that the way we work will always triumph over Google. Ours is better for developers.
Image uploaded by people Gizmodo

-In Apple really think that our integrated SO going to win on Google no matter how hard in open flame.

"Second, let me speak tablets Avalanche seems looming in the coming months. Other tablets appear to have only a handful of acceptable sales. Almost all have 7-inch screens. Compared with 10-inch screen of the iPad, one might think these tablets offer 70% of the size that could be obtained with the iPad. But the reality is that the 7 inches is actually a little smaller than half the iPad, so we are talking of only 45% of the size for our tablet. In my opinion, this is not large enough to make better applications for tablets.

-In Apple did extensive testing, I really understand the issue. We know the limits on how close together the elements can be placed on a multitouch screen without losing usability. We are confident that 10 inches is the minimum size to make interesting applications for tablets.
- All users of tablets is also a user of smartphones. No tablet can compete against the mobility of a smartphone: easily fit into your pocket or purse, and is not intrusive when used in public. Since every user has a tablet and smartphone, giving up valuable screen size to make the tablets come in his pockets is not the right direction. The 7-inch tablets are transitive. Too big to compete against a smartphone, and too small to compete with the iPad.
Several
Tablets
-use Android, Google himself when he tells the producers that do not use Froyo. What can be expected if the software provider says that they do not use your OS and manufacturers ignore it?

"The iPad is now over 35,000 applications. The new tablets will be 0.

"Our potential competitors have great difficulty approaching the price of the iPad, even with smaller screens. Apple creates its own chip, its own OS, battery chemistry, housing, everything. An amazing product at an incredible price. The competition will be practically giving less for more.

"The new breed of tablets will be virtually" dead on arrival. " Are too small. For next year, manufacturers will learn the hard way and increase the size of their tablets, leaving customers and developers who bought the 7 inch.

both audio Engadget as TiPb transcription, there is also a section of questions and answers with Steve Jobs is interesting. Due to time constraints, I can not transcribe the moment, but these days I will. Meanwhile, you can see on the pages mentioned links are above the jump.

[ UPDATE 1: Fixed error in the amount of dollars in sales, and Android enabled device (I had eaten a zero) thanks John for letting me notice .]

Good or do you tell? Life

Let's see ... you see, if you ... whoever you are, I tell you one thing, you I order:

IF YOU REALLY WANT THE ANSWER THEN DO NOT QUESTION ME!

not ask me how I am if you're willing to listen, because I love the formality and if I ask a question you can answer how I feel and not give you the formal response "OK".

If you ask me "as I am" I'll respond as I am true and if you do not have wanted to hear then do not ask me.

If you ask me "as I am," you better be willing to listen to any kind of response because if you do not agree with my moods, my emotions, my feelings or my thoughts and you have no desire to listen then do not ask me, because the fact that you do not agree or you do not like does not change reality, what I feel, and the fact that I did not hear or judge me wrong does not make me feel good ... so if you do not mind better not ask me ... talk about other things ...

I for one promise not to ask whether I feel the answer ... and wonder if I promise not to judge but do not understand, at least I'll make the effort ...

Do we agree?

Do You Capitalize Philosophy

As good photos with the iPhone

Photography HDR [High Dynamic Range, more info here ] is not exactly a new technique. Has been around since 1850, but until the advent of high-quality digital cameras, remained as limited to professional photographers and enthusiasts. Around 2003, software composers as Photomatix HDR photos made their way the general public. In 2005, Photoshop CS2 functionality to compose adopted HDR photos basic form. The current version has a sophisticated integration for HDR photos and even a feature that allows you to simulate HDR effects in single photo.
Sydney City Skyline HDR. HDR photo taken with a Nikon D90 for John Davey
Returning to 2005, then Microsoft started talking about a new image format, HD Photo (aka Windows Media Photo or WMP), which was specifically focused on HDR images based on the hope that digital cameras will implement that capability. HD Photo format was announced in March 2007 but had to go through a hard time trying to gain traction. Eventually, the format became JPEG XR, which was launched in April 2009. However, we have not seen much of JPEG XR mass products yet, "Even the HDR himself had occasional trouble passing the public lover of photography, the general public.

Apple took a decisive step in this regard and is currently offering its iPhone HDR Photography 4. This can sound great at first, but if we think that the HDR processing requires a certain quality photos in the first place so they can achieve decent results, one can not help but wonder if the HDR capability on a camera phone is really a good idea. Megapixels do not really matter in this case, but the concern goes through how limited is the light sensitivity of CMOS sensors that are in the chips of mobile phones with cameras and the unusually high level of distortion that is in their photos.

Up here, this was some good information to know in what context it comes as HDR Photo iOS property. Were the words of Daniel Bailey, who knew of photography, he wondered if the HDR feature would be really an improvement to the iPhone's camera 4, or if it was just a smoke screen. You can read his article in English here .

For my part, I take as initial foot Daniel indication about how to get decent results with the HDR process and show you step guidance on how to get that "certain quality" required.

Photo by Gizmodo people with an iPhone Camera 4

HDR Photos solve two problems in the iPhone 4: Most digital cameras tend not to have a good dynamic range, and the iPhone 4 in particular has no controls to set exposure beyond being able to select the area you want to focus. This can cause problems in light scenes on the outside, forcing us to choose between heaven completely white, or darkened figures (see image above). With HDR photo, theoretically, would be able to capture and properly expose the complete picture to see the result, as we saw in the iPhone's screen before take the picture.

Stay still, pancho

Photo by Gizmodo people with an iPhone camera 4
In " HDR mode, the iPhone 4 captures three photos of different exposure to combine: one overexposed, one normal and one underexposed. Even considering that these three photos are taken in quick succession, this is not instant. So, if one moves, moving equipment, or if any element of the scene is moving, the results are mutants to be friends with three arms, or ghosts in the background elements, product mix three photos that have one or more objects whose location is different in each shot.

Focus, focus, focus

Photo by Gizmodo people with an iPhone camera 4
Having the goal in focus is the key to making everything right when the iPhone 4 combine everything into a single image, since it is easier for the software to mix the results of three well-focused photos, and so we avoid getting a blurry shot or enquilombada as a result.

When it is worth making use of HDR?

Photo by Mark Labitzky with an iPhone camera 4
The key is to make sure there is plenty of dynamic range to capture first. In other words, it is to find scenes with areas where the incidence of the light varies. Photos that are relatively uniform lighting (such as low-light scenes) do not show any improvement in the best, and at worst, are worsened after the HDR process.

Photo by Gizmodo people with an iPhone camera 4

Given the basic capabilities of the iPhone HDR 4, good results when you try to do simple things like giving adequate exposure to someone's face without losing the merits of a decision made in the outside sunlight. With a picture of the wooden planks of decking on the beach that is already properly exposed, final results will not be good. (When not sure what to do, the iPhone tends to adopt an outcome overexposed or washed. And with the HDR in general, this trend is lost in favor of higher contrast and saturation, which turns out to be preferable, provided and when the effect is applied on scenes rich in variety of lighting).

Testing around

Photo by Gizmodo people with an iPhone camera 4

The best of the ability of the iPhone 4 HDR is that it preserves the original photo along with possibly new-and-improved version, so one does not cost anything to experiment. If you do not like the result, it can be deleted.

Photo by Mark Labitzky with an iPhone camera 4
The iPhone camera 4 and was in itself quite good. And while its ability HDR is not a miracle, manages the photos of the new iPhone look even better, so it's hard to complain too much.

Up here, the guide made by Matt Buchanan to Gizmodo *. You can visit the original article in English here . As for me, I want to return to the words of Daniel Bailey to see what you think someone you know about photography on the results of HDR built into the iPhone 4.

"There's really no big surprises. The iPhone HDR 4 can provide subtle enhancements, but it is what it is: the HDR from a digital camera, so it is far from achieving the results-based HDR shots taken by powerful DSLR. While these effects do not expect a surreal and a wide range of colors, the HDR makes iPhone 4 done a decent job, even if the shots themselves are not enough good to be printed on photos of no more than 5x7. In the examples that I have received, the palettes were significantly higher in the HDR shots, resulting in greater weight of the files as well. While normal shooting usually weighing between 900KB and 1.2MB, HDR shots weighing between 1.3MB and 2.0MB. "

In other words, what Daniel says is that the iPhone 4 HDR really work as long as You do not expect miracles the HDR does in photos taken with cameras more powerful (and can take the first photo of this entry as an example of the miracles ). Apparently, the ability to do HDR shots, found in the new Apple Mobile general public outreach've been waiting. The question is to consider the advice above and encouraged to practice good hand to take a photo of the iPhone feature 4, which also may be coming to the iPhone 3G.

In any case, they can also try one of these applications that perform processing HDR photo in case you have an older model iPhone, or just to try something different.

HDR images and Recommended

not sure yet if I do this regularly or not, I guess I will meditate on the matter. The fact is that this week I came across a couple of pictures and interesting articles that said a lot for themselves. That is well summarized as they were, seemed sufficient and did not feel he could add anything (see how much I took) so I decided that it would be nice to share it with you, so here we go.

I should have been the iPod nano
By Dani Munoz AppleWeblog

is not fully agree with the author, in fact in my opinion, the iPod Nano would to have a screen as big as its predecessor, and I insist that my idea to see photos of the new Nano measures are disappointing.

However, I do not see to bad the idea that out a similar product launched by Sony Ericsson, but compatible with the iPhone. I mean nothing more nor less than the LiveView, a device measures similar to those of the iPod Nano that connects to the Android Phone using Bluetooth and helps the user to see on your screen the text messages, emails, phone calls, and all kinds of information such as updates on Facebook, Twitter and so on.

It looks bad at first, seems to have no rationale, until one learns that comes with a bracelet so that we can use it as a clock. The idea to have your phone in pocket or bag without having to remove it or look at each 2x3 when we are expecting some important information is just great. In fact you can even control the music player from the device, and we can see who's calling without having to see the phone.

Honestly, it sounds good, but be seen as playing the device's battery. Today I do not think Apple is just the company should take a product and accessory for the iPhone. Rather, imagine that this could be done by companies from third, though perhaps only be those of Cupertino who can solve the problem energy consumption of such a gadget could have.

Choosing a Smartphone Android (September 2010)
For people Gizmodo (English)

A table on which Android model deals chosen according to the U.S. carrier (there are unique models of an operator, as if selling the iPhone here 4 only course, and the Nokia N8 personnel only). While not useful for someone outside the U.S., I think it's interesting to know how models are divided according to operators, and the way we look at the Android's strongest market today.

In my personal opinion, it is a pity that the Droid X is exclusive to Verizon (so it uses CDMA technology, implying that there will be sold in Latin America because here we use GSM) and the Samsung Captivate is a model only AT & T (it could distributed in our area because it is GSM, but restricted to the U.S. model). Android to me are the most interesting moment, and unfortunately we will not see them or glazed.

Before the picture, I want to clarify something: for those who are thinking of buying a Droid 2, I advise you to see this video . Apparently, they find that their quality is disappointing. For me, it would be better keep an eye on Samsung models, but it's up to you. Now if the chart that I mentioned:

The ability to take HDR photos you waiting to appear on your iPhone 3G? (Yes!)

A screenshot of the SDK (I'm not clear on which version) shows that the iPhone 3G would be able use the new feature that incorporates iOS photo. According to Gurman Mark explains in the SDK encoded with a "2x" devices that have Retinal Display, and clearly there are two codes written for the HDR iPhone: one with the 2x, which is the iPhone 4, and one without the 2x , which is surely the iPhone 3G.

Dc Tech Decks At Target

week iOS Tablet OS vs BlackBerry: What Apple Could Learn From

On Monday September 27 happened, RIM introduced its Tablet the public: the new BlackBerry Playbook. With a name that points to a young audience (the play has an obvious connotation gamer) and specifications that seek to capture the attention of executives (approved by the NSA, the National Security Agency U.S. devoted to monitor and verify network are protected against potential attacks, among other things) this new device seems to have come to compete closely with Apple iPad.

before I showed them the technical specifications of this tablet BlackBerry and compared them with those of the iPad, to which I added after comparisons of different sites with other tablets like the Samsung HP Galaxy Tab and Slate. In my opinion, and more than one, it is clear that the Dual Core 1GHz processor and 1GB RAM are clearly superior to the offer from Apple. To this I add that there is a greater density of pixels in the playbook screen, so that images and text in particular, may be seen more clearly than in an iPad.
However
model against which we measure a tablet iPad due out until early 2011? It is clear that if the RIM product was for sale right now, and assuming that everything worked as well as expected, it would be a better option than Apple's tablet, especially if you're talking of specifications and prices. But by then, we may have already had a iPad 2, or at least rumors of what will be their specifications.

The iPad processor 2 would definitely be more powerful than the current model, though I doubt it is a Dual Core. I also imagine that will have more RAM memory capacity, but again I think it will catch up with the qualities of the Playbook: almost certainly expect to be around 500 MB. Leaving aside the specifications and spending more on the territory of the features, it is expected that the iPad 2 has some technology Retinal Display as to increase the density of pixels, but I do not think that increase is as significant as the iPhone 4. In addition, all now take for granted and will have a front camera to allow calls via FaceTime, and probably has a thin and light design.

in numbers, probably the iPad 2 continue to lose against the specifications of the Playbook (probably the new Apple tablet only win in the section of the screen with a higher density of pixels, better color and larger) but nevertheless The iPad may still be a better option. Why? It's simple: if iOS is optimized to take full advantage the hardware on which it is, and if you make an efficient use of energy, maybe the battery is the trump card of the iPad 2 on the playbook.

me explain: the processor, memory, and the chambers of the playbook, and are better in numbers, also have a higher energy consumption. The processor because it will be doing as many tasks at the same time, the memory because it tempts the user to make indiscriminate use of multitasking that would run background applications (and thus unnecessarily consuming battery) and the cameras because their ability and resolution are more suitable for taking pictures and making videos, so the user will be tempted to spend battery to make use of them.

The hypothetical iPad 2, on the other hand, have an optimized multitasking to spend as little energy as possible. Your processor will not be the most powerful on the market, but certainly will not be the poorest, and probably will be optimized to work harder and less battery drain at the same time. The amount of RAM will be just and necessary, and the camera will not be the best FaceTime, which makes it good for the sole use interesting that can be given. Moreover, Apple will save the user to pay for cameras, or not to use (if you want the battery will last long enough) or force him to put the device to recharge.

you still sounding as bad specifications having less flashy?
For me, no. The new iPad should be able to come in numbers to the playbook, but need not match it, much less surpass. To offer a similar experience, longer battery life and interesting applications, sales could easily exceed the BlackBerry tablet. In addition, it is rumored that the new iPad model could have a mini USB port, and therefore enhance connectivity. "Mini HDMI? I'm 99% sure you will not see it because Apple has a more elegant solution (but more expensive) to achieve a connection to your TV: Apple TV.

Taking this into account will need to improve the new iPad? Are they exaggerated the specifications of the Playbook? Will Apple offer an experience equal or better, without spending so much on enhancing the hardware?

The reality is that today, the specification that makes the difference is the OS. And while iOS is offering a wider variety of applications, with experience use user-friendly and intuitive interface and easy to use, the reality is that it lacks some interesting features and has solved some design issues poorly in the iPad. Let me explain below.

As noted in Apple Weblog , "IOS is wonderful, but more should have two distinct aspects: iPad (iPhone + iPod Touch)." Sharing the same error with the tablets Android, Apple is currently adapting an OS designed for small screens (no more than 4 inches) so it can be used in a significantly larger screen (9 inches). What Apple really should do is to realize that iPad is an entirely different objective and therefore requires an OS specifically designed to exploit their full potential (or at least the size of the screen).

Referencing Applesfera this article can be made evident the need for the iPad has owned an independent operating system as it does with its Tablet BlackBerry OS. According to Miguel Lopez reminds us, on September 1st Steve Jobs gave us a preview of what would be the upgrade to 4.2 iOS iPad. Expected especially for multitasking much needed tablet users of Apple, this update had sparked the imagination and planted expectations among graphic designers who anxiously awaited the release of the update. Cupertino The latest being the new version of IOS for the iPad, and more than one thought the delay was due to the development of a streamlined interface for 9-inch screen.
"iPad screen is much bigger than an iPhone and therefore the interface to switch between applications and the folders will be optimized for it, for anything we have a simple inheritance of the iPhone interface." That

expected, at least, since the delay would be pointless and fed the idea that it was. In fact, Miguel tells us that:
"Many experts remained curious about what Apple could show us, the company that best GUI takes care of its worldwide with a team of geniuses from Cupertino. Showed mockups of how they might be folders or how we could switch between open applications with a 9.7-inch screen, discussed alternatives ... "
However, as we know, nothing happened as expected: the interface iPad remained identical to the iPhone in each of its new features.

"since from Cupertino argue that an iPad iPod is not just a great touch and its multi-touch screen results endless possibilities for the interface should have done themselves a more streamlined interface to the screen of your tablet. "

I can only agree with him this Miguel Lopez, and add that the interface should be optimized in itself, not just to demonstrate that the iPad is more than iPod Touch big, but to offer the user a richer experience and take advantage offered by the screen size. In this regard, Tablet BlackBerry with OS who seems to have understood the issue better by providing a much more optimized design.

what it cost Apple iPad give a change applications faster, with thumbnails to facilitate the choice and make the experience more visually pleasing? It would be even easier and faster to select the application in these "cards" great in the center of the screen from small icons arranged in a tiny bottom bar. In addition, Tablet OS BlackBerry shortcuts seems to incorporate that in the case of having many applications open, we can more easily find we are looking through a filter applications by category.

For folders, it's amazing space is wasted as the display screen when the icons inside it. It would have been smarter than we "enter" in the folders as we do on a PC, and so do all the applications available at a glance. O, come if Apple does not want the user to navigate with such transition entry and exit pages and folders, could have sought ways that no matter where the folder is selected, this increase using animation to top of the screen so that when opened, will make better use of space applications look like this:

Again, the question is: Was it too much to ask?

And to top it off, Tablet OS still have things to teach the iOS Apple. It has integrated Adobe Flash 10.1 which allows web browsing experience more complete offering gives iOS, and has support for Adobe AIR, which promises interesting applications if they attract competent developers.

addition, as noted in Gizmodo, BlackBerry Tablet OS supports multiple platforms and technologies today's standard like Open GL, WebKit, Java, POSIX OS and SMP, with 6 and the BlackBerry platform developed by RIM WebWorks. This means that applications written to run on both BlackBerry WebWorks 6 as the BlackBerry Tablet OS, while Java will facilitate the work of developers who want to carry BlackBerry applications 6 that are based on Java. In addition, support for OpenGL means that there is significant potential for games "graphically intense."

Fortunately (or rather, through research that opened antitrust Apple) policy requirements regarding the development of apps is now less restrictive so iOS can better compete against the BlackBerry offering. However, the interface designed specifically for the screen size, plus support for Flash and Java are important points in favor of the playbook that Apple could easily match if they wanted to. Hopefully we can see, hereafter, an improvement in this regard. Because of this continues, it is likely that the tablets of BlackBerry, along with the tablets with Meego and why not? WebOS, will remove a significant portion of sales to iPad, beating Apple in the field always knew where noted: the software.
